Kyla Houbolt occupies Catawba territory, rather unwillingly, in so-called Gastonia, North Carolina. She writes poems and sometimes puts them on trees in the walking park nearby. She did graduate from high school but that was it. She is always grateful to her parents for their fascinating bookshelves and for bequeathing her music. People seem to like calling her a nature poet but she is more comfortable just being a poet. She published two chapbooks in 2020: Dawn’s Fool published by Ice Floe Press in March, and Tuned, published by CCCP Chapbooks, Sedition Editions in November. Most of her individually published pieces are digital and can be found on her Linktree at https://linktr.ee/luaz_poet
